Pat L. Fleming

KINGSPORT - Pat L. Fleming, 67, of Kingsport, passed peacefully early Saturday morning, September 15, 2018, at home with her daughter’s family in Cleveland, TN, after a battle with ALS.

Born in Lebanon, TN, she had resided in Kingsport since 1974. Pat was a 1972 graduate of The University of Tennessee, received a Masters from ETSU in 1989, and had a plus 45 from Cumberland University. She retired from Sullivan County Schools in 2010, where she taught special education for 38 years. Pat was a member of Northeast Church of Christ. She enjoyed baking, gardening, decorating, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Fleming; and father, Glenn Lecornu.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Kim Pirtle and husband Andy of Cleveland, TN; son, Brent Fleming and wife Lisa of Seymour, IN; six grandchildren, Lucy, Charlie, Sara, and Henry Pirtle, Thomas Fleming, Stephen Fleming and wife Kelly; mother, Jean Lecornu of Kingsport; sister, Glenda Hanks and husband Richard of Kingsport; niece, Emily Badrian and husband Jonathan and their children, Hank and Forest; and nephew, Aaron Hanks and wife Julie and their children, Annabelle, Emma Claire, and Abe.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Northeast Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Jay Cline, Minister, officiating.

Graveside services will be at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Palmer Center Foundation, 301 Louis St. Suite 305, Kingsport, TN.
